We are the Near North Student Robotics Initiative, a student team representing the Near North District School Board. Our mission is not only to build a robot, but also to promote science and technology. We compete through FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) In the spirit of FIRST, we are a multidisciplinary team and strive to shine a positive light on engineering and all learning. We encourage students to join in real life leadership, science, business and technology challenges. Our team is not confined to one classroom, nor one school and not even one city. We draw our strengths from the entire Near North area. This encompasses North Bay, Ontario, Canada and communities within an hour's drive. We strive to draw in a variety of individuals, including teachers, parents, business owners and young students who have not yet entered high school. NNSRI is not just our team; it is the community's team!
Counting Down
Our team has been working incredibly hard over the past few weeks doing our best to get as much of our robot and projects completed as soon as possible. Our team has continued with its belief that every member should get the chance to discover every part of robotics and with so every member has been encouraged to complete tasks in all aspects of our team.
Our team is now counting down the days until our Annual Media Launch. We would like to invite evryone that wishes to attend and see our newest robots as well as every aspect that Team 1305 and FIRST has to offer.
Our tenth annual media launch will be held on February 16th 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Near North District School Board.
